Peninsula Gateway Competition - Tel-Aviv Israel
Peninsula Gateway Competition - Tel-Aviv, Israel
Tel-Aviv Jaffa Municipality
CCS was one of two US firms selected to participate in an international competition to redevelop Tel-Aviv’s northern seafront. As the key approach from the north, the site offered unparalleled opportunity to create a new signature gateway development and icon for Tel-Aviv. CCS’s bold framework plan maximized the unique attributes and history of the site to establish a series of distinct districts organized around a logical street grid and hierarchy of public spaces, including the Levant Circle, a new arrival plaza, the central Maccabee Gardens, New Jaffa Point, and Esplanade. The resulting plan provided Tel-Aviv with a grand symbolic “New Jaffa” vision, or the new “port” to the future of Israel.
