As Strategic Planner/Development Manager, CCS crafted the master plan framework and vision for the Heart of Hyde Park that served to guide the community development processes. CCS served as the Program Manager for the implementation of various projects on behalf of the public and institutional owners. This included preparing and managing the Request for Proposals for the Hyde Park Theater and
Retail Site, one of the key U of C properties in the center of the commercial district.
CCS also prepared and managed the joint RFP for the broader Harper Court redevelopment on behalf of the two partners; University of Chicago and the City of Chicago. Using an ‘interactive RFP’ process, teams were engaged in a participatory design and development dialogue throughout the crafting of proposals. CCS was able to realize for the City and University the highest quality, most complete/comprehensive and advanced proposals from an array of qualified developers. CCS led the detailed review and assessment of the responses, the recommendations for a preferred developer, and the final proposal negotiations with the selected team.
