Lake Park Crescent - Chicago, Illinois
Lake Park Crescent Master Plan - Chicago, Illinois
Draper and Kramer, Incorporated
Building on its prime adjacency to the Chicago lakefront, CCS’s master plan vision sought to orient a sweeping central crescent park toward the lake, thereby maximizing the site’s value for residential development and to the neighborhood. The resulting Lake Park Crescent development, has helped restore North Kenwood-Oakland as a true “lakefront” community and become a model mixed-income redevelopment for the Chicago Housing Authority. The restoration of the city street grid and traditional Chicago residential block, the abundant open space amenities and the use of traditional Chicago housing types throughout the development have created a bold new face and great value to the neighborhood while raising the bar for future redevelopment in the area.
